(Traverse City) – GFA is pleased to welcome Carrie May, P.E., to the firm’s development team this month. Ms. May has over 25 years of experience in design, management and construction and has operated her own successful business (Boyne Engineering and Design) in Boyne City since 2002.
Ms. May’s recent projects have included subdivisions, commercial and residential site plans, stormwater analysis, and on-site septic systems. She holds both a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Construction Management from Michigan Technological University. Outside of the office she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, boating and camping, and creating original artwork which can be seen at her website: dreamweavernests.com.
In other news, GFA has named Brian Boals, P.E., as the firm’s director of engineering. Mr. Boals has been with the firm since 2005. His most recent projects include the 8th Street Reconstruction in Traverse City and a wastewater facility master plan for the City of Cheboygan. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Michigan Technological University and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Mr. Boals is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Kiwanis Club of Traverse City, and is active with the American Council of Engineering Companies. He’s also a winter sports enthusiast and enjoys volunteering with the Kiwanis TC ski school.
